Terrestrial Mapping and Monitoring

Collaborators and clients

The Terrestrial Mapping and Monitoring stream within CSIRO Mathematics, Informatics and Statistics has collaborated with numerous organisations, including:

  • Australian Greenhouse Office (National Carbon Accounting System)
  • Agriculture Western Australia (monitoring land condition)
  • Satellite Remote Sensing Services and other groups in the Department of Land Administration (technology transfer, collaborative land condition monitoring projects, digital elevation generation)
  • Conservation and Land Management (monitoring forest condition and jarrah dieback)
  • Northern Territory Department of Lands, Planning and the Environment (monitoring rangeland condition)
  • Environment Australia (monitoring changes in forest areas)
  • Bureau of Resource Sciences, DPIE (Australian Agricultural Landcover Change Project)
  • The Land and Water Resources Research and Development Corporation and the National Dryland Salinity Program - the collaborators included: NSW Agriculture (monitoring salinity), Department of Primary Industries SA (monitoring salinity) and the Department of Conservation and National Resources Victoria (monitoring salinity)
  • Community and shire-based catchment and land management groups
