cost Australia annually.
PARMS-PLANNING is CSIRO-developed software
to predict pipe failures and determine likely future costs for different
management and operational strategies.
It is helping Australian water utilities manage their assets more
efficiently.
Richard Jarrett, CSIRO statistical modeller, says this allows
utilities to
determine costs required to maintain customer service, prevent
unscheduled supply interruptions and reduce property damage due to pipe
failure.
