SolarScan® in use1000

The approximate number of Australians who die each year from melanoma, the deadliest skin cancer.

GPs can now diagnose melanoma reliably and painlessly with SolarScan®, a device developed by Polartechnics with the Sydney Melanoma Unit and CSIRO's Biotech Imaging team.

"Our image analysis software helps SolarScan detect melanomas early, when survival rates are high", says CSIRO's Leanne Bischof.
