Associate Professor David Hunt, Australian Mathematical Society Representative

David Hunt, Head of the Department of Pure Mathematics at the University of New South Wales, began his research career in group representation theory by studying for his doctorate at the University of Warwick.  His research interests include number theory, group theory and other aspects of modern algebra.  He has a wealth of administrative experience both at the University of New South Wales, as a Council member of the Australian Mathematical Society, as Director of Training for the Australian Mathematical Olympiad Committee and as a Director of the University Cooperative Bookshop.  In recent years most of his "free" time has been directed towards training the Australian team which represents the country at the International Mathematical Olympiads held each year in July.
