The use of integers

On Unix boxes the default integer is long, however for portability reasons the LIAR expects:

  • where appropriate use the LIAR types (see Table 2);
  • all integers referring to image size or pixel raster location
    must be explicity declared as long;
  • integers referring to image coordinates can be declared as short, int or long.
