Research Activities - Marine Statistics
 |
Stock assessment is crucial to the continued viability of the
$250 million Australian prawn fisheries industry. |
Marine Statistics research is conducted to enable effective, efficient
and sustainable management of Australia's marine and coastal resources.
Working closely with CSIRO Division of Marine Research, staff develop
methods for resource assessment, monitoring and control. The skills of the
staff are in population modelling and stock assessment, and in spatial
statistics.
