What happens en-route to the wine that Australian producers send overseas? |
|
How long does it take to reach its destination? What temperature stress is the wine put under? Wine Supply Chain Council members CSIRO, The Supply Chain and Logistics Institute, CSIR and Catholic University of Chile are building a global picture of containerised wine shipments. |

Agriculture. One of our core areas of expertise is in agricultural logistics, particularly wine supply chain research. We are a member organisation within the Wine Supply Chain Council, and have developed enterprise-level software for grape maturation forecasting.
Minerals, Heavy Industry and Bulk Materials. Another of our core areas is capital intensive supply chains: mining, minerals, heavy industry and bulk materials handling. Our team provides products and services for planning and scheduling, estimating the benefits of capital investments, evaluating changes in operating policies and analysing variability in blending and throughput performance.
The Services Economy. Our work in the services sector of the economy has included studies in the healthcare industry and the development of commercial software for booking and scheduling recreational vehicles.
The ASN team collaborates with a range of groups in academia and via industry partnerships. With universities we co-supervise PhD students and carry out joint research. We are part of industry-oriented organisations such as the Wine Supply Chain Council, and we contribute to industry awareness-raising, education and transformation initiatives through activities like our supply chain courses run jointly with the Logistics Association of Australia.
Researchers from the ASN team regularly present findings, case studies and perspectives on the future at industry events. Some of our presentations, and other documents about ASN, are held on our publications page.
We welcome enquiries from organisations interested in the research services and products of the CSIRO ASN team, and from researchers who would like to collaborate with us. Please take a look around this website and contact us if you think that you could benefit from working with us.
