An Announcement
about
Minimisation of Wastage and Checking in the Manufacture of Pasta (September, 2000) The
CSIRO Mathematical and Information Sciences (CMIS)
division received a NSW State Government Waste Reduction Grant administered
though NSW Environment Protection Authority to conduct a study, in conjunction
with Green’s Vetta, of “Minimising
semolina wastage in pasta manufacture and the elimination of checking”. The project will be undertaken by members of the Mathematical Modelling of Industrial Processes (MMIP) Project in the CSIRO Mathematical and Information Sciences (CMIS) division. More
about CMIS as well as the MMIP project can be found on the following Web
sites: http://www.cmis.csiro.au/mmip/mmip_projects.htm Under
the terms of that agreement, CSIRO must make public the generic
findings of this research in open workshops. Interested cereal chemists, durum
wheat breeders, pasta manufacturers, semolina millers and durum wheat growers
will be invited to participate in seminars in 2001. This
announcement represents an opportunity for interested people to register for
further information. or
